Welcome to Arizona Equine Rescue Organization
We are a small 501(c)(3) with a big impact on our community through our all-volunteer services. Since 2001, we've been providing rescue and rehabilitation, emergency response, community education, and at-risk youth programs.

A Specialized Health Center for Rescue Horses
The Arizona Equine Rescue Organization (AERO) is a highly specialized health center for rescue horses that require intensive medical care. Our average rescue usually requires about 9 to 18 months of rehabilitation before the horse is ready to be adopted.
We conduct all of our rehabilitations with utmost care, and have built this organization on a strong philosophy of love and nurturing for the horses that come in. AERO is proud to be an authentic advocate for the welfare of horses everywhere.

Our Programs
We provide comprehensive services to help horses heal and educate our community.
Rescue & Rehabilitation
Horses seized by law enforcement in neglect or abuse cases are brought to our facility to be held during the legal process and eventually adopted into safe homes.
Emergency Response Services
Our trained animal technical rescue team responds to law enforcement and fire department calls for trailer accidents, livestock emergencies, and strays as well as disaster evacuation.
Community & Youth Education
Our volunteers support character education of at-risk youth, bring in specialty training for animal technical rescue, first aid, and provide trailer safety and horse handling classes.
Dedicated Volunteers Making a Difference
AERO is powered entirely by dedicated volunteers who donate over 7,000 hours annually to help horses heal. Our team includes experienced horse handlers, veterinary professionals, and passionate community members.
We believe that a nonprofit is as strong as the community that holds it up. Together, we can do more than we can do alone. Our volunteers bring their abilities and passions together to affect real change in the lives of horses and at-risk youth.
