Carol Hobson founded the Arizona Equine Rescue Organization in April of 2001 collaborating with several other rescue organizations and veterinarians in Maricopa County. Carol started at a young age jumping horses in Thousand Oaks, CA and eventually ended up in 3-Day Eventing as an adult.  She couldn't get enough time with horses as a kid scooping stalls, working at stables, and owning her own horse.  Her many years of personal horse experience and love of working with horses was all she needed to start her vision.  Her own personal experiences as a child motivated her to help the community by providing the unique combination of having at-risk youth participate in the rehabilitation of critical need horses.  She provided significant financial backing to AERO in addition to her time through the early years to get it off the ground.
