January 2010 - Anthem Adoptathon

National Rescue Ride 2009 was a big success and everyone had fun even though we had to change the trail at the last minute due to freeway construction!  We had lots of folks trying the Trail Trial obstacles and the weather was beautiful!  Thanks to everyone for their support!

Big Bronco 2009 Sale  - Another success in spite of challenging economy with a wonderful show of community support.

Fiesta Days Parade - April 4, 2009

This was our first year in the parade and we had a great time.  Draven and Solstice and Squirt Gun all showed the crowd how amazing rescue horses can be.

 

Black Stallion Literacy Project - Second Touch at Horse Lover's Park - March 26 and April 2, 2009

Each year we support this project by bringing the rescue horses and running some stations.  The kids love it.

 

Walter Badet Horsemanship Clinic for Volunteers - Feb 21, 2009

AERO's trainer, Walter Badet, generously offers his time to have volunteers practice horse handling and work through problem behaviors with the rescue horses at no charge to the rescue.  We can't thank Walter enough for helping us in this way and the people who join us always have a good time!

 

 

 

Cavalia Opening Night - Feb 14, 2009

Cavalia has been wonderful to AERO in so many ways - from handing out our brochures at the shows, to visiting our children's programs, to providing gifts for our kids, to providing us with free tickets to opening night.  We love the people at Cavalia and are big fans of the show.  Here are a few pictures of the artists and AERO volunteers on opening night!

Coyotes 50/50 Raffle - Feb 7, 2009

AERO volunteers rallied to participate in the Coyotes game raffle....there were over 20 of us encouraging folks to buy a raffle ticket and beat the recession blues!  We earned recognition for being enthusiastic and fun by the Coyotes staff!

Petsmart Charities Petwalk - Jan 25, 2009 

The AERO team enthusiastically represented horses at a highly dog friendly event....aren't horses just big dogs?  We walked our ponies and raised money for horses all while having fun!  Special thanks to Petsmart Charities for having the first event like this to raise money for local rescues!  It makes a difference!

Adopt-A-Highway - Jan 10, 2009

Dedicated volunteers get up on a Saturday morning to maintain our section of the highway......this important task allows our rescue to get visibility on a busy stretch of road!  And it's not easy work....but thanks to Sheryl who bought us the pick up tools we all saved our backs a little this time!

 

Trail Trials Clinic - Jan 3, 2009

 

Star Thornton, Randy and Tammy Sandidge and many other volunteers made this day a wonderful fundraising success and we all had fun on our horses to boot!

 

 

 

Special thanks to Normand Latourelle, President and Creative Director of Cavalia, and Renee Moore of Barclay Communications for taking the time to visit our kids at Horseshoe Trails!  Our Respect session was made extra special by these amazing guests.
